infirmary for a few months and found my home at the level 5 yard, and immediately fell in love with my new work environment. I was there for one year, and recently returned to the county jail. I have three beautiful children ages 24, 21, and 13. I am proud of all 3 of them and who they are becoming. I love my career choice and wouldn't change it for anything!
Correctional officers have my heart and I believe in what they do and believe that the world has forgotten about them. They sacrifice everyday just as road officers do, and many have been injured and died on the job, and I want the world to know what all of them sacrifice every day, when they walk into work Behind The Walls! I also want everyone to know that as a nurse, we are real nurses and have gone through the same trenches of school as any other nurse.
I have done many things in my life from working as a nanny, a bank, an event planner, a CNA, and now a Certified Correctional Registered Nurse.

A little background, I have been a registered nurse since 2017 and was a CNA prior to that. I worked at the county jail as a new grad and to be honest the job fell into my lap. You don't get much education in nursing school about corrections and it pretty much became a blessing. I worked there for 2 years on nights and loved every minute of it.
